Driver caught going 145 mph on I-25 in Monument

(MONUMENT, Colo.) — On Monday, March 25, a Colorado State Trooper pulled over a driver on I-25 in Monument that was going 145 mph.

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) posted about the speeder on X (formerly Twitter), and said the driver was pulled over on I-25 near mile marker 161 in Monument. The speed limit in the area is 75 mph.

CSP said thankfully, the trooper was able to pull over the dangerous driver before they hurt themselves or anyone else.

According to Colorado Law, the penalties for going more than 25 mph over the speed limit include at least a $150 fine, a minimum of 10 days in jail, or both. Speeding can also be accompanied by Reckless Driving charges, depending on the severity of the offense.
