Driver dead after FedEx truck crash in Deerfield

COOK COUNTY, Ill. — A driver is dead after a Fed-Ex truck hit a guardrail and caught fire on Lake Cook Road near I-294 early Tuesday morning.

Illinois State Police responded a crash where a FedEx truck hit the guardrail for an unknown reason near I-294 northbound on Lake Cook Road Tuesday morning.

The driver was ejected and was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver succumbed to their injuries at the hospital and was pronounced dead.

The right lane of the tristate in the area was blocked after the accident.
