A man died at a hospital Wednesday after his sport-utility vehicle went airborne, struck a concrete streetlight pole, and struck a wooden power pole on U.S. 1 in Titusville.

Corey Matthew Henry, 32, died shortly after the single-vehicle crash, which occurred about 7 a.m. on U.S. 1 about ½ mile south of State Road 50, south of Kennedy Point Park.

"It's an ongoing investigation," Titusville police spokesperson Amy Matthews said Friday morning.

In a press release, Titusville police said Henry was driving a silver 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe northbound when he lost control, drove onto the grassy median off the east side of the roadway, and went airborne.

Henry was transported to a local hospital, where he died about 8:30 a.m. He was the sole occupant of the SUV, police said.
