Driver Faints, Hits Pole, Overturns Car In Parsippany: Police

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A medical condition caused a driver to crash and overturn their vehicle Tuesday in Parsippany, police said. The driver told police they had fainted several times in the past few weeks since becoming ill with COVID-19 a month ago.

The accident occurred at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday on Route 202 and Sand Hill Court. The driver traveled south when their Honda Pilot crossed into the northbound lane, police said. After striking and damaging a utility pole, the vehicle overturned, according to the crash investigation report.

No injuries were reported, and no charges are listed on the crash report.

Based on an investigation and statements from the driver and two witnesses, police determined an "unknown medical condition" caused the driver to faint and lose control of the vehicle.
