Driver kicks pregnant woman in stomach during fight at Chick-fil-A, police say

WILMINGTON, Del. - A driver intentionally kicked a pregnant woman in the stomach Saturday afternoon during a fight at the Chick-fil-A drive-thru in Bear, State Police said.

Jada Blake, 19, of Newark, was in the drive-thru lane at the Chick-fil-A when the driver of another vehicle attempted to pull in front of her, police said. The line at the restaurant frequently backs up onto the street, blocking traffic at the nearby shopping center.

Blake abruptly accelerated, blocking the vehicle from moving forward, then got out to confront the other driver, a 21-year-old pregnant woman, police said.

Blake struck the pregnant woman in the head and face through her open window, police said. When the second woman got out of her vehicle, Blake intentionally kicked her in the stomach, knowing that she was pregnant, police said.

After the fight, Blake got back in her vehicle and continued waiting in the drive-thru, police said. Troopers arrested her while she was still in line.

The pregnant woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and evaluation, police said.

Blake was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangering, menacing, disorderly conduct, no proof of insurance, careless driving and possession of marijuana.

She was released from jail on $5,103 unsecured bail.
