Driver killed in fiery crash Sunday in Dinwiddie County

DINWIDDIE — One person was killed in an early morning fiery car crash Sunday in the county.

Virginia State Police said in an email that the incident happened around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Fort Dushane and Halifax roads. The vehicle reportedly ran off the road at that intersection and caught fire, immediately killing the driver.

Police said the driver was alone in the car.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of next-of-kin. An investigation is ongoing.
