Driver leads police on high-speed chase through Clovis, Fresno County and Fresno

Investigators say the suspect was wanted for violating a domestic violence restraining order.

- This morning, a man is in custody after leading police on a chase that went from Clovis through Fresno County and ended up back in Clovis. It started after 1:00 this morning at the Holiday Inn on Shaw and Helm where a min in his 40s was wanted for violating a domestic violence restraining order.

Police approached the man in the silver car, and he sped off. Police chased the man with both the help of a CHP and AirOne helicopter that followed the car as far west as the Fresno County town of Rolinda, then went back through Fresno and Clovis.

At times, the helicopter reported the car reaching speeds of up to 130 miles per hour. Officers were able to catch up to the vehicle when the man stopped at a home on Cornell and Apricot Avenue. That is near Shields and Armstrong.

JARED BINFORD: There surrounded the residence, got on the PA, called the subjects out. And ultimately, the subject who was driving the vehicle came out and surrendered.

- The suspect knew someone that lived in the home, he is in custody facing two counts of felony evading and violating a restraining order. No one was hurt.
