Driver from NC killed in crash east of Lancaster

A driver behind the wheel of a Jeep died last week on a road east of Lancaster, South Carolina, police told Channel 9.

The Lancaster Police Department said the crash happened around noon last Thursday on Rocky River Road. Officers arrived and found the driver ejected from the Jeep. Police said the driver went off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and then flipped on the left side of the road.

The driver died at a hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. The Lancaster Country Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 48-year-old Timothy Ryan Cox of Monroe.

According to Lancaster PD, the driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

No other cars were involved in the crash, police said.
