Driver ran off after hitting two school crossing guards in Spring Hill, HCSO says

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is investigating after a driver struck two school crossing guards, crashed into another car, and ran off.

The crash happened at around 4 p.m. near Northcliffe Blvd. and Deltona Blvd. HCSO did not say which of the nearby schools the crossing guards were affiliated with.

Both of the crossing guards were taken to a trauma center for their injuries and updates on their conditions will be forthcoming, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

HCSO did not identify the driver but said they were taken into custody.
