Driver strikes, injures two pedestrians following Vero Beach Christmas Parade

VERO BEACH — Police are investigating a crash that injured two pedestrians on Ocean Drive following the Vero Beach Christmas Parade Saturday night.

The crash happened after 7 p.m. Saturday in the 3400 block of Ocean, according to police spokesman Master Officer Darrell Rivers. The two people injured were senior citizens who had been parade spectators, he said.

Officers at the scene were checking the driver for intoxication, Rivers said.

Indian River County Fire Rescue took both of the injured people to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce.
