The driver survived after a McLaren sports car was destroyed in a crash on I-95 Sunday morning

A man survived with apparent non-life threatening injuries after the McLaren sports car he was driving crashed on Interstate 95 in Delray Beach.

Delray Beach Fire Rescue said in a tweet they extricated a man from a “mangled” McLaren sports car after it crashed at about 8:15 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 south of Woolbright Rd. in Delray Beach.

Fire Rescue crews transported the injured man to Delray Medical Center.

The Florida Highway Patrol was investigating.

McLaren Automotive makes some of the most highly sought after and expensive sports cars in the world. The starting price for a McLaren 720S is $301,500, according to Car and Driver magazine.
