You likely recognize Laura Prepon for her iconic roles as Donna Pinciotti in That ’70s Show (which she just reprised in Netflix’s That ’90s Show) and Alex Vause in Orange Is the New Black. But did you know the actress is also quite the foodie? She released a cookbook a few years back and often shares simple, nutritious recipes on her Instagram. Our latest favorite? Her drool-worthy bourbon sour, a cocktail that we’ll be sipping for the rest of winter.

“I love bourbon drinks in cold weather, it’s very cozy,” Prepon explains in an Instagram video while she makes the cocktail. Think of her holiday bourbon sour like an elevated, holiday-inspired whiskey sour, down to the traditional egg white. We may have already taken down the Christmas tree, but this cocktail’s in-season citrus and warming whiskey make it a great bev to sip until spring hits.

“Yes, we’re adding raw egg white,” she says, “so make sure you have a nice, fresh egg. You can also not use the egg white; I love it for the beautiful foam that goes on top.” (Same, Laura. Same.)

The recipe stars bourbon, fresh citrus juices and sorel liqueur, which is a spiced artisanal liqueur made with hibiscus. It’s commonly added to summery rum drinks, but its tartness and cranberry color are just right for a wintry cocktail like this. Prepon also uses rosemary-infused simple syrup to sweeten hers, but you can use plain syrup if that’s what you have on hand.

Our favorite tip of hers? She adds a whisk ball (like the kind you find in protein shaker bottles) to the cocktail shaker to help froth the egg white. That’s…pretty ingenious if you ask us.
