Six Tuscarawas County churches will be open this week to collect Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts for the Samaritan’s Purse project.

Individuals, families, and groups transform empty shoeboxes into gifts filled with school supplies, hygiene items and toys. The project partners with churches across the globe.

Operation Christmas Child has been collecting and delivering shoebox gifts to children worldwide since 1993. It hopes to collect enough shoeboxes to reach another 11 million children this year. Since 2013, the Ohio East Area of Operation Christmas Child has packed and shipped 265,643 shoeboxes.
