Dry brush at Reagan library in Simi no match for this herd of goats

Simi Valley's presidential hills came alive with the sound of munching Friday as grazing goats settled in to help reduce wildfire danger.

Ventura County Fire Department crews brought hundreds of goats to the grounds of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum. The sure-footed ruminants will graze on dry grass and chaparral as part of the library's annual wildfire prevention program.

The goats will be on hand for several weeks and will be moved around the property at 40 Presidential Drive.

A previous firebreak created by the visiting herd is credited with helping firefighters save the Reagan library campus when the Easy Fire surrounded it in 2019.
