Power outages possible this weekend, strong wind gusts expected Saturday

Power outages could be a problem again this weekend.

Severe Weather Team 11 is tracking a very strong storm system that will bring us waves of rain, thunderstorms and potentially damaging winds Friday night through Saturday.

On Channel 11 Morning News starting at 4:30 a.m., we’re continuing to track this system that will bring strong winds into the area.

Wind gusts could top 55 mph in some areas Saturday leading to power issues in many neighborhoods for the second straight Saturday. The strongest winds will gust early in the afternoon Saturday. However 45-60 mph wind gusts will be possible for several hours from late Saturday morning into Saturday evening.
