Dixie State University will host a Community Education Outreach Series for the rural communities of Southern Utah.

Beginning in February, locals can attend six lectures on different topics at the DSU Hurricane Education Center or see the classes live-streamed at the Kanab or Hilldale locations. The sessions will be held every Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“Lifelong learning is extremely beneficial and the opportunity we have with this series is really remarkable,” Tyson Pulsipher, director of Community Education at Dixie State, said. “The knowledge and experience the presenters bring to each session is really special. I would highly recommend signing up for the entire series, even if a particular subject does not sound appealing. The lectures are based on entire classes offered through Community Education, and each session will highlight the best of the best in that subject.”

There will be a bonus lecture “Taking the Mystery out of Medicare” that will only be available on Zoom at noon on Feb. 22.

“DSU is committed to bringing educational opportunities to our rural communities — that's why we have beautiful branch campuses in Hurricane, Kanab and Hildale,” Dr. Nancy Hauck, Dixie State’s associate provost of Community & Global Engagement, said. “We care about the lifelong learning of community members across our service area and know the transformative power learning can bring to the life of each person.”

Participants will need to preregister for any of the lectures. Each class is $10 or $49 for the whole series. To learn more visit https://ce.dixie.edu/
