DU to close Cherry Street this week

Oct. 23—Beginning Tuesday morning, Cherry Street Northeast will be closed for the rest of the week while Decatur Utilities installs a new sewer manhole and an 8-inch sewer main,

The work near the intersection of Cherry Street and Sixth Avenue is scheduled to last through Friday. Detour signs will be available.

Utility workers will be on site daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The closure will be in effect during overnight hours as well as during work hours.
