Another lawsuit involving Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” has arisen.

The London-born pop star was accused in a second lawsuit of copying older music to make the hit song, Billboard reported.

L. Russell Brown and Sandy Linzer filed the new suit Friday in a Manhattan federal court, claiming Lipa ripped off the melodies from their songs “Wiggle and Giggle All Night,” which came out in 1979, and “Don Diablo,” which they released the following year.

Days earlier, the reggae band Artikal Sound System accused the Grammy-winning Lipa of copying their 2017 song “Live Your Life” to make “Levitating.”

Lipa, 26, released “Levitating” in 2020.

“The signature melody is the most listened to and recognizable part of the infringing works and plays a crucial role in their popularity,” Brown and Linzer’s lawsuit reads, according to Billboard.

“Because video creators frequently truncate the already brief snippets of sound on TikTok, the signature melody often comprises fifty percent or more of these viral videos.”

Lipa has not publicly responded to either lawsuit.

“Levitating” is one of the singer’s biggest hits, peaking at the No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. A popular remix of the song features rapper DaBaby, who is among the defendants named in Friday’s lawsuit.

Lipa, a three-time Grammy winner, is also known for songs such as “New Rules” and “One Kiss.”
