Dua Lipa Is About to Cause Another Corset Shortage

Earlier this year, there was a corset shortage thanks to Netflix's steamy period drama, Bridgerton. Then came another corset shortage because the kids of TikTok (can we call them kids?) made the sexy garment go viral. Now, we expect yet another shortage to ensue because of Dua Lipa.

The singer was photographed out and about in London wearing a Vivienne Westwood corset in the coolest way. Designer still unknown, hers was made from what appeared to be a thick cotton fabric and had a very fall plaid print. It also had subtle hip cutouts (a trend that Bella Hadid has tried, too) and a front zipper for easy wear.

Lipa styled her corset with baggy jeans (another trend she's been playing favorites with), a black grommet-detail belt, and chunky black sneakers. While we have seen various ways to wear the corset — from red carpet-worthy to a bit more street-style friendly — the singer's take is one of our favorites to date because it's just so chill.

A corset has range. Sure, it's inherently sexy because of its form-fitting nature, but simple styling changes can make it look incredibly edgy in seconds. If you're not ready to fully try out the trend, dip your toes by scooping up a top with subtle corset detailing, like this one from Adidas.
