In a vote that ended Jan. 14, Dispatch.com readers selected the Athlete of the Week for competitions that took place from Dec. 20-Jan. 9.
This week's winner is Dublin Jerome hockey player Matthew Zazon.
Zazon had 23 saves in a shutout of Cincinnati Moeller and 32 saves in a 2-1 win over Bowling Green.
Zazon received 54% of the vote and was followed by Thomas Worthington hockey player Collin Stegemiller, who received 39.9%, and Delaware Hayes basketball player Chloe Jeffers (4.1%).
Stegemiller, the runner-up, had a goal and four assists in an 11-0 win over Watterson. Jeffers scored 36 points in a 52-47 win over Thomas Worthington.
The Athlete of the Week voting recognizes athletes across all sports.
Nominations are due Monday mornings for competitions that took place the previous week.

Once athletes win during the regular season, they're not eligible to be back on the ballot until the postseason. Athletes who have not been a recipient of one of the weekly awards can be nominated more than once.
