Dublin Safe And Sane Fireworks Fundraiser Benefits Non-Profits

DUBLIN, CA – Thirteen area not-for-profit organizations began selling fireworks on Sunday as part of the city’s annual Safe and Sane initiative that will run through the July 4 holiday.

The City of Dublin and its public safety departments urge local residents to use extreme caution with the use of fireworks. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the use of safe and sane fireworks will be limited this year in order to maintain proper social distancing guidelines. In addition, the city will not allow fireworks to be used in any city park, facility, business park, school or multi-family housing complex.

City officials announced that fireworks will be limited to neighborhoods with single family homes and residents are encouraged to gather with their social bubble when they hold July 4 celebrations. As part of the fundraiser, those organizations selling Safe and Sane Fireworks must adhere to current public health requirements and social distancing rules.

The City of Dublin has a zero-tolerance policy for illegal fireworks. City officials will be increasing enforcement efforts and those caught using illegal fireworks will be fined the maximum penalties allowed by state law and could face jail time.
