Duchess Kate, Prince William step out to church with Queen Elizabeth in Scotland
The royal family is presenting a united front amid scandal over Prince Andrew's involvement with Jeffrey Epstein.
After Andrew himself accompanied the Queen to church earlier this month, Prince William, Duchess Kate, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla took a turn. The five were photographed on the way to Crathie Kirk Church, where the royal family worships while in residence at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
Kate was photographed sitting in the back seat of a car behind Prince William and next to the queen, who wore an all-hot pink ensemble. The duchess chose a dark overcoat with a dark Lock & Co. Hatters hat and Asprey earrings. Prince Charles drove wife Camilla in a separate car.
Prince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth's second son, made a public appearance with his mother two weeks ago, just a day after news broke that his friend Jeffrey Epstein died in jail. Andrew's oldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, also joined her father and grandmother.
In a statement to USA TODAY Saturday from Buckingham Palace, the Duke of York said he is "eager to clarify the facts to avoid further speculation."
"During the time I knew him, I saw him infrequently and probably no more than only once or twice a year," the statement read. "I have stayed in a number of his residences. At no stage during the limited time I spent with him did I see, witness or suspect any behaviour of the sort that subsequently led to his arrest and conviction."
