Duck ramp is the only good thing in D.C. right now. Please don’t ruin this.
At least one thing works in Washington.
A duck ramp went up at the Capitol Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., Monday and by Tuesday the resident ducklings were using the new structure exactly as it was intended.
It was literally the only good thing to come out of D.C. this week after a report alleged Donald Trump mishandled classified information and another surfaced that he told former FBI director James Comey to back off investigating Michael Flynn — and it's only Tuesday.
Lucky for us, though, four families of Mallard ducks live at the reflecting pool. The Architect of the Capitol's office built the ramp for the li'l buds, who needed assistance to get in and out of the water safely, especially with that big limestone curb. D.C.'s City Wildlife organization also had a hand in the ramp implementation.

At first it looked like the ducks didn't understand the ramp.

Of course, some politician had to try steal our sunshine and criticize the duck ramp. Republican North Carolina Rep. Mark Walker posted that the ramp was "government waste."
Just give us this one thing, man.
If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, it must be government waste. pic.twitter.com/JKgabZ47O5

His ridiculous tweet garnered more than 1,600 replies — with many people pointing out the exorbitant costs of the president's numerous trips to Florida and visits to NYC. Many also just wanted to enjoy the cuteness without the political nightmare.
@RepMarkWalker I could build a duck ramp for $10 shut up pls

@RepMarkWalker The taxpayers are footing the bill for Trump's estranged wife and child to live in a literal palace and you're crying about a $10 duck ramp?

Duck Ramp. The Washington, D.C. hero we all need right now. https://t.co/aADQFswnPO

The duck ramp in action wasn't the only adorable duck news out of the nation's capital. A box of ducklings and their mother were rescued from the Library of Congress roof.
Thank you to @uscapitol @capitolpolice for helping @librarycongress staff rescue these ducklings and their mother from the roof. pic.twitter.com/Hy11Nu64OL

Ducks! Please let us just have this.
