9 Tiny Ducklings Rescued From Storm Drain

Fremont firefighters are not just heroes to people, but to mama ducks who lose their ducklings in storm sewers. On Sunday, Captain Earls, Engineer Chamran and Firefighter Azevedo of Truck 57 pulled nine tiny ducklings from a storm drain on Delta Terrace.

Castro Valley Teacher of the Year, Classified Employees of the Year

Each year the Castro Valley Unified School District selects one teacher as the CVUSD's Alameda County Teacher of the Year and two teachers as the Masonic Teachers of the Year. Nancy Galloway, the Physical Education Teacher at Jensen Ranch Elementary School, has been selected as CVUSD's Alameda County Teacher of the Year. Jessica Labang from Chabot Elementary School and Diane De Young from Canyon Middle School have been selected as the Masonic Teachers of the Year.
