Ducklings saved from storm drain by police officer

A video shared on Facebook by Eureka's police department showed a police officer picking up baby ducks from storm drain using tongs and putting them on the pavement near the drain.

“The Eureka Police Department Community Safety Engagement Team (CSET) was working patrols and helped rescue baby ducks from a storm drain. The ducks were taken to the Humboldt Wildlife Care Center,” said Brittany Powell from Eureka Police Department in an emailed statement.

“Just out saving baby ducks this beautiful Father’s Day morning. Happy Father’s Day!” – the police said in a description associated with the video.
