Duffy Accessories closes in Scranton

Oct. 19—A store selling jewelry and other fashion accessories closed this week after 35 years of business.

Per a sign on the door at Duffy Accessories, 218 Linden St., Tuesday was last opportunity to shop in the store. Owner Maureen Duffy also addressed customers with a note on the sign.

"Thank you for this 35-year jewelry and accessory career journey of soulful adventure," Duffy wrote in the statement. "I have many great stories and interesting experiences from Main St. to art studios, Indian reservations, and international gem shows. Bringing artisans' work to the consumers has been a fulfilling job. Meeting all of you has been the greatest joy."

She originally founded Duffy Accessories at 723 S. Main Ave. in Scranton in 1988 and later moved to Linden Street.
