Duke Energy map: Power restored after 2K outages reported in Butler County

Update, 8:22 p.m.: Power has been restored to thousands of Butler County households after outages were reported Wednesday night.

Duke Energy's outage map was updated, showing earlier this evening that 2,392 customers in the New Miami area lost power.

As of 8:22 p.m.., those customers had their power restored, the map shows.

The Enquirer has reached out to Duke Energy for comment regarding the cause. The cause is listed as "unknown" under the company's outage summary.

Previous reporting: Thousands of customers are without power in Butler County Wednesday night, according to Duke Energy's outage map.

As of 6:15 p.m., Duke Energy is reporting 2,392 customers without power in the New Miami area. The company serves 133,729 customers total in Butler County.

The National Weather Service hasn't forecasted adverse weather during the evening. Butler County Regional Airport in nearby Hamilton has overcast and no precipitation, the service says.

The map says customers can expect to have power restored by midnight.

The Enquirer has reached out to Duke Energy for more information on the cause of the outages.
