Dump truck hits motorcycle on Route 10, killing the biker. Police are looking for the driver.

CHESTERFIELD − Police are looking for the driver of a dump truck that struck and killed a motorcyclist Wednesday night on state Route 10 near Chesterfield Courthouse.

According to a police email, the wreck happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Route 10 westbound between Courthouse Road and state Route 288. After the dump truck hit the motorcycle, the driver fles the scene on foot.

The biker was killed instantly. Police have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of next-of-kin.

All westbound lanes of Route 10 were closed for the remainder of Wednesday night while investigators worked the scene.
