Dump truck overturns, spills sand on stretch of SR 429

An overturned dump truck spilled sand on a stretch of State Road 429 in Orange County early Tuesday.

The spill forced crews to shut down the northbound lanes near New Independence Parkway.

Crews worked to clean up all the sand on the road. A tow truck arrived at the scene to help with the cleanup.

Drivers were being forced off SR 429 at the New Independence Parkway exit.

We don’t know if the truck driver was hurt.
