Dump trucks collide head-on in Woodbridge leaving one person critically injured

WOODBRIDGE – A truck driver was in critical condition following a head-on collision on the overpass near Port Reading Avenue and Lee Street Friday morning.

Township police responded around 9:42 a.m. to the scene on reports of an accident, according to Woodbridge police.

According to the preliminary investigation, a dump truck veered over the yellow line into the other lane and collided head-on with another dump truck, police said.

Both drivers were transported to a local hospital, police said.

The driver of the truck that veered was in critical condition, while the other driver had minor injuries, according to police.

This incident is currently under investigation and there in no additional information at this time.
