A significant plot of land is up for grabs on the banks of the Cumberland.

DuPont, a leading chemical company, listed a 370-acre industrial site for sale in Old Hickory.

Part of the property, 214 acres listed at 1002 Industrial Drive, was purchased in 2019 for $3.8 million by DuPont Specialty Products USA LLC, according to Metro records.

The marketing materials show the chemical company owns five adjacent lots, totaling 436 acres. Which lots will contribute to the outstanding 156 acres for the 370-acre listing remains unclear. DuPont did not return a request for comment.

The appraised value for the 214-acre site is $4.5 million, according to property records.

The listing comes as development continues to boom across the greater Nashville area, with large sales and investments along the Cumberland River's banks near downtown.

"The Riverside," a 65-acre waterfront development spearheaded by B. Edward Ewing in northwest Nashville, plans to transform the land into a bustling mixed-use neighborhood.

Ewing bought the first 30 acres for $2 million in 2015 and bought another 35 acres over the past few years in a series of transactions finalized in 2021. The family pledged to invest $2.5 billion toward the project.

Oracle America paid nearly $254 million for slightly more than 60 acres of Nashville riverfront property in the River North district one year ago.

The tech giant plans to invest $1.2 billion in a second U.S. headquarters after leaving its Silicon Valley birthplace for Austin, Texas, last year.

The last remaining available parcels in River North were acquired by GBT in October.
