Durango courthouse reopens following suspicious white powder investigation

DURANGO, Colo. (KREX) — The Durango Police Department and La Plata County Courthouse reopened Wednesday following a brief investigation into a mysterious white powder that turned out to be baking soda.

Durango Police officers found suspicious-looking white powder at entries to the DPD and La Plata County Courthouse Tuesday morning, as well as other businesses downtown Durango. Officers promptly closed the DPD and LPC Courthouse and called in the FBI, CBI and Durango Fire Department to assist with the investigation.
