“Hey! I'm Olivia Rodrigo, and today I'm at the White House meeting with President Biden and Dr. Fauci, because it's so important that we all get vaccinated.”

The White House - and its effort to vaccinate Americans - got a dose of star power Wednesday.

Eighteen-year-old pop star Olivia Rodrigo - whose album ‘Sour’ is number one on the charts and who has millions of social media followers - has teamed up with the Biden administration in an effort to convince more young people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as cases increase nationwide.

She was set to meet the president and infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci… and to record some videos promoting vaccination.

But before any clips, like this one, were released on Twitter... the pop star made an appearance in the White House briefing room, decked out in a vintage plaid Chanel suit, white platform shoes and black ankle socks:

"Hi. First, I want to say I am beyond honored and humbled to be here today to help spread the message about the importance of youth vaccination. I'm in awe of the work President Biden and Dr. Fauci have done and was happy to help win my support to this important initiative. It's important to have conversations with friends and family members encouraging all communities to get vaccinated…”

That’s a key message coming from within the White House… As vaccination rates among youth are lagging, and scientists say the spreading Delta variant may cause more severe disease, especially among younger people.
