Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has just revealed a first look at Jumanji 3.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle became a surprise hit of 2017's holiday season, despite opening days after fellow record-breaker Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and now its sequel is on the way.

After announcing the movie's release date, Dwayne Johnson has now posted a first teaser picture for it.

"Yes, you’re favorite band is back ~ lookin’ lean (ish) and mean," he wrote on Instagram.

"Even though things may not be as they seem. So buckle up world because soon we’ll all play when a brand NEW JUMANJI drops this Holiday!

"Oh the fun you’re gonna have. Love, The Smoldering Dr. Bravestone."

Welcome to the Jungle director Jake Kasdan, who will also return for Jumanji 3, has discussed how the new movies reference the original.

"Our hope is to keep a long continuity through the whole thing, even though the story that we're telling in the second movie, the movie that we're working on right now, is much more connected to the first movie that I made a year ago than it is to the original," Kasdan said.

"We love the idea of keeping all of this together and connected in some way or another."

Jumanji 3 is set for a December 13, 2019 release date in the US.
