Dwayne Johnson has urged a French museum to fix the skin tone of a wax figure of him, which comes after it attracted a backlash online.

Paris' Musée Grévin has been accused of 'whitewashing' the actor and former wrestler after it recently unveiled the figure.

Johnson is among those who have taken aim at the museum, the star reposting a video by comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr which criticises the waxwork.

Jefferson Jr compared the work to a "pebble", "David Beckham" and "the Royal Family", adding: "I'm lowkey offended".

Writing in the comments, Johnson said: "I knew my boy @jamesjeffersonj had this Rock wax statue in his roasting crosshairs".

Referencing a line in which the comedian asks: "Is this how y’all felt when you lost the Little Mermaid?", Johnson admitted he "legit belly laughed".

However, he then revealed that he will be in contact with the Musée Grévin, writing: "For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at 'updating' my wax figure here with some important details and improvements- starting with my skin color".

He then added: "And next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop in and have a drink with myself".

The museum has since responded to the controversy, sharing a statement titled "Work in progress – The Rock" on their Instagram Stories.

"Our artists are already working on improving the waxwork of Dwayne Johnson," they confirmed. "Your feedback is always valuable to us".

In other news, back in August, Johnson questioned why Black Adam 2 would not be happening following DC's change in leadership under James Gunn and Peter Safran.
