Fans of the “Fast & Furious” franchise will get to smell what The Rock is cooking once again.

Despite previously stating there was “no chance” he would reprise his role as Luke Hobbs in future “Fast & Furious” films, Dwayne Johnson appears to have had a change of heart.

According to The Wrap, he makes a post-credits appearance in the upcoming “Fast X,” though there’s no word on what exactly takes place in the sequence or who he appears with.

The latest installment of the Vin Diesel-headlined blockbuster series, which hits theaters May 19, follows racer Dominic Toretto and his “Fast family” as they go up against ruthless drug lord Dante Reyes (played by Jason Momoa). Joining franchise regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Sung Kang, EGOT winner Rita Moreno, Oscar winner Brie Larson and Meadow Walker Thornton-Allan, the daughter of late “Fast” star Paul Walker, also appear in the film.

Johnson originated the role of Hobbs in 2011′s “Fast Five,” returning for 2013′s “Fast & Furious 6″ and 2019′s “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.” After years of a rumored on-set feud with Vin Diesel (which spilled over into social media), the “Jungle Cruise” star revealed that he and his fellow bald-headed, bulked-up bro had a “meeting of clarity” and went their separate ways.

After it became known that the former professional wrestler would not return to the billion-dollar franchise, Diesel made a public plea on Instagram for Johnson to appear in the 10th installment.

“The world awaits the finale of Fast 10,” he wrote. “As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes.”

“I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo [Paul Walker],” he continued. “I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10! I say this out of love... but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle, you have a very important role to play.”

Johnson called the action “manipulative.”

“I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it,” he told CNN. “We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding. My goal all along was to end my amazing journey with this incredible ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise with gratitude and grace.”

Johnson said the “public dialogue has muddied the waters” and added that he wishes the franchise “success in the next chapter.”
