Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Busted a Metal Gate With His Bare Hands Because He Was Late for Work

From Men's Health

The Rock won't let anything stop his grind. Not even a jammed metal gate that just won’t budge.

In a Sept. 18 Instagram post, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson shared a little story (oh yes, and photo) that will undoubtedly serve as a cautionary tale to any foes—or hydraulic metal gates—that ever dare challenge The Rock.

In the post, Johnson explained he was on his way to the set of his latest film, Red Notice, when his front gate decided to malfunction. According to the actor, the gate simply would not open because of “a power outage due to severe storms.”

“I tried to override the hydraulic system to open the gates, which usually works when power goes out,” Johnson writes in the caption of the post. “But this time, it wouldn’t.”

So The Rock made some calls to a gate tech, who said he could be there—in 45 minutes. But Johnson recaps that he couldn’t wait that long.

“By this time, I know I have hundreds of production crew members waiting for me to come to work so we can start our day,” Johnson writes. “So I did what I had to do.”

Apparently, that was completely annihilating his metal front gate with his bare hands. No big deal.

“I pushed, pulled and ripped the gate completely off myself,” he writes. “Ripped it completely out of the brick wall, severed the steel hydraulics and threw it on the grass.”

Just....take a look for yourself.

The Rock writes that the moment was “not [his] finest hour,” but a man’s gotta go to work. The buff actor adds that when the gate tech and welders did arrive, they were “in disbelief and equally scared” as to how Johnson ripped off his gate.

At the end of the post, Johnson writes this feat of impressive strength is just proof that he’s “100 percent ready to be Black Adam,” the DC villain he’s been slated to play for years. The film, Black Adam, begins shooting in 2021.

After all that effort, let’s give The Rock this one humblebrag.
