Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Voiced His Strong Opinion on Tom Brady’s Cliff Jumping Instagram

From Good Housekeeping

  • This weekend, New England Patriots star Tom Brady posted a controversial video of himself jumping off a cliff in Costa Rica with his 6-year-old daughter, Vivian.

  • Right away, the NFL player began getting backlash from those concerned about his and Vivian's safety.

  • Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson even weighed in after seeing the video and said the clip made him "anxious."

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and many others have shared their thoughts on an Instagram video of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady jumping off a cliff with his 6-year-old daughter, Vivian.

The video in question emerged over the weekend while Tom vacationed with his family in Costa Rica. In it, the Patriots player holds his youngest daughter's hand and leaps off a rock formation into a swimming hole below after counting to three.

"If Vivi is going to be an Olympic champion one day, it probably won’t be in synchronized diving. Daddy always gives her a 10 though! 🏅🏅🏅" Tom captioned the photo.

Immediately, many began calling Tom out for jumping. "Good way to end up in a wheelchair. Foolish," one fan said. "When she hesitated, he could of dislocated her shoulder! He snatched her into the water!" another claimed.

Even The Rock felt compelled to speak up and share his take on the moment. "You KNOW I have complete faith in you as a man, friend, player and father - but this just gave me anxiety. Geeezus 😂👏🏾👏🏾," he wrote.

Besides Dwayne, other celebrities, like P. Diddy and Steph Curry, chimed in and made it clear that they thought the Instagram was hilarious. What's more, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre took the opportunity to poke fun at the Patriots player. "She is a 10 but old dad gets a👎😂😂😂" he joked.

This isn't the only time Tom has come under scrutiny for his parenting choices. Back in February 2018, Tom faced major criticism when his Facebook show Tom vs. Time showed the quarterback kissing his son, Jack, on the lips. Tom was also called out for kissing his dad in a similar way after winning the Super Bowl in 2017.

Meanwhile, Dwayne has had to fend off his fair share of critics, too. Just this June, Dwayne was the target of parent shamers when he posted a photo of his 2-year-old daughter, Jasmine (who didn't appear to be wearing a bathing suit), jumping into a pool. The photo has since been removed from social media.

As of today, Tom hasn't spoken about the cliff-jumping video or Dwayne's reaction to it. Chances are, given the way Tom has ignored his critics in the past, the NFL star will just shake off the hate and move on.
