"Dancing With the Stars" alum Derek Hough woke up on Saturday morning in excruciating pain and ended up getting emergency surgery on his appendix. The 34-year-old shared his experience on Instagram with his millions of followers.

"Woke up at 3am with a severe and a sharp pain in my abdomen. Knew something wasn’t right. Turned out it was appendicitis and had surgery to remove my appendix straight away. "

He Danced Immediately After Surgery

The star was in good spirits after the medical procedure and was doing a little peacocking in the video that he shared. It appears that the surgery could not keep Hough from trying to bust a move with a little shuffle.

"This is me immediately after, still a little(a lot) medicated, giving @hayley.erbert a (sexy) little dance.Me: Is this doing it for you babe?Hayley: So hot.Thank you for lying to me babe ;)."

His Girlfriend Cares

Hough had nothing to worry about because he had his girlfriend, Hayley Erbert by his side the whole time. She even captured a moment where Derek was knocked out on the hospital bed. Erbert decorated the image with lots of cat gifs that were strategically placed on the sleeping star. "Wherever we go, there's a partayyy," she captioned the post which appeared on her Instagram story.

The couple has been going strong for a while and he celebrated her 25th birthday by getting her a cake. Derek recently documented their trip to Korea. "Had an amazing time in South Korea. Great people, great food, amazing experience," the star wrote in the caption of his post which featured several pictures of Erbert.

Fans and Famous Friends Wish Him Well

Hough's hospital post was flooded with positive comments from his fans and his famous friends.

"Get well soon bro. And pick me up one of those badass gowns,” Gavin DeGraw wrote while actress, Amy Purdy said, “Feel better soon!!!”

Fellow "Dancing With the Stars" star, Emma Slater commented, "Ooooo dude hope you’re ok, take care of yourself."

His fans wished him well too, "Super glad you’re okay!! Praying for a speedy recovery," a follower said while another wrote, "Aww!! I hope you’re feeling better soon!! I’m wishing you a speedy and successful recovery!!"
