Dynamic Dozen 2022: Marion Star seeking nominations for young community leaders

The Marion Star is looking for people who could one day be the city's mayor, run a vital non-profit, direct a critical business or simply lead the community on a path toward progress: the Marion Star Dynamic Dozen.

Are you someone who is working for economic development? Does someone you work with volunteer his or her time generously to help Marion youth? Are you proud of a family member or friend for stepping into a leadership role?

We are asking you nominate these individuals to join our 2022 list of the best and brightest young professionals (under 40) in the Marion County community.

As we learned from our 2021 cohort, young leaders in the community are working to build a culture of belonging throughout Marion. We are looking forward to once again highlighting and celebrating the accomplishments and service among another group of Marion County's young professionals.

A committee from the Star and community organizations will help select the 12 honorees from the nominations. In the past, members of the selection committee have been from the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce, Marion Rotary and Marion Young Professionals.

Those selected for the honor will be notified by the Star in October, and the 12 honorees will be announced to the community in early November.

Nominations should be sent via email to blanka@gannett.com with the subject line, "Marion young leaders." People can nominate themselves, coworkers, family or friends.

Email submissions should include:

  • Nominee's name.

  • Nominee's birthdate, which won't be printed, but nominees must be younger than 40 by Oct. 31, 2022.

  • Nominee's occupation.

  • Nominee's community activity.

  • Nominee's community or township of residence

  • Nominee's contact information, which will not be printed.

  • A 200 word or less explanation of why the nominee is deserving.

All nominations must be submitted by Friday Sept. 9.
