Dynamo Shares Inspirational Story Behind ‘Walking On Water’ Stunt

It’s not every day that you decide to jump out of bed and walk on water, but for Dynamo that “trick” had a much deeper meaning behind it.

In 2011, the magician – real name Steven Frayne – famously walked on the water of the River Thames in front of the Palace of Westminster.

He had been promoting his forthcoming series Dynamo: Magician Impossible and it certainly attracted a lot of media attention.

The 33-year-old has since opened up about the bullying that he endured as a child, revealing how it inspired him to pursue a career in magic.

He recollected one particular traumatic incident as a teenager, long before his name was up in lights.

He shared the memory with OK!: “When I was 15 these 2 kids used to throw me in the dam next to our estate and hold my head under water.

“I couldn’t swim and it was petrifying. That’s what inspired me to walk on water.”

The Bradford-born star’s adult life has been filled with much happier times, not least of which included marrying his wife Kelly some four years ago.

Reflecting back on the beginning of their relationship, he said: “We met nearly five years ago at V Festival and we haven’t stopped speaking to each other every single day since.

“I’m very fortunate to be married to the most amazing person. She’s my best friend as well as my lover.”

While the loved up couple don’t have any children yet, Dynamo admitted that he would like to start a family at some point, when the time is right.

“I’d love to be a dad - there’s got to be some mini Dynamos – but I’m still young,” he explained.

Before adding: “I want to be the best dad ever and just to be there for my child. That’s why I’ll wait until I can wind down my career a bit.”

Aww, we do love a happy ending!
