If there's one cleaning tool most people consider a necessity, it's a vacuum. The appliance is responsible for picking up everything from dirt and crumbs to pet hair and dust, leaving your floors cleaner than how you found them. But if your vacuum is on its last legs or if you're ready to upgrade to a cordless iteration, you're in luck. Dyson just launched two new cordless vacuums, the Gen5detect and Gen5outsize—and they're the brand's most powerful appliances yet.
Dyson's newest vacuums are the first to feature its next-generation motor, which spins at 135,000 rpm—faster than a Formula One engine. This is why they have the most powerful suction of any cordless Dyson machine. Both vacuums can transform into handheld models and have a built-in dusting and crevice tool for convenient cleaning. As of today, the new vacuums are available for purchase on Dyson's and select retailer's websites.

Dyson Gen5detect™ Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

In addition to having a powerful motor, the Gen5detect vacuum features a fully sealed, whole-machine HEPA filtration system that's engineered to capture 99.99 percent of particles. It was designed to ensure that virus particles as small as 0.1 microns remain trapped in the machine. The lightweight vacuum has up to 70 minutes of suction, so you can clean your whole home without worrying about the battery dying. What's more, the machine's interface has been completely re-engineered to show users when their surface is clean in real time.

Dyson Gen5outsize™ Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

The Gen5outsize has all of the same new technology of the Gen5detect—including a HEPA filtration system and new interface—but with a larger capacity. This machine boasts a 150 percent bigger bin, 25 percent wider cleaner head, and double the run time (140 minutes), which makes it better suited for larger homes.
