Many who use the E-ZPass to pay for use of the Ohio Turnpike were overcharged because of a systems update.

Customers' accounts had been credited, though, as of about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, the turnpike announced on Twitter.

The turnpike encouraged customers to check their accounts at ezpassoh.com.

Banks may process refunds immediately or take three to five days. Customers who incur banking fees are asked to contact the E-ZPass customer service department at 440-971-2222.

No account information was compromised, the turnpike said.
