New eagle statue unveiled at Guntersville State Park
GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The next time you head to Lake Guntersville State Park, it’s going to look a little different.
Friday, City and State officials unveiled a new eagle statue outside the park’s lodge. The statue is of an American Bald Eagle, holding a fish in its claws.
Park officials say this statue represents not only the prime fishing opportunities at the lake but also the primer eagle spotting opportunities there.
Jenny Hendrix, a local artist, created the statue and the unveiling was all apart of Eagle Awareness Weekend.
