The Eagles announce farewell tour and it’s coming to Rupp Arena. How to get tickets.

The Eagles are saying goodbye and Kentucky will get a chance to see them. The band announced its “The Long Goodbye” tour Thursday morning.

For the farewell tour they will be joined by fellow rock music Hall of Famers Steely Dan.

The Eagles will be returning to Rupp Arena for a final concert in Lexington on Nov. 14. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. July 14 at ticketmaster.com. Pre-sale tickets and VIP packages will be available starting July 12.

But don’t expect the tickets to come cheap: In 2018, prices for lower arena seats in Rupp for the Eagles sold for between $229 and $445.

Tickets for the November show are expected to start in the $129-$500 range.

Tickets for the Rupp Club Experience, which come with food, private entrance, premium seating and parking, are expected to go on sale later today for $450-$475. You can sign up for the exclusive tickets at rupparena.com/event-tickets/clubs.

“The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe; keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds,” The Eagles said in a statement. “Credit and thanks go to our longtime management team, our dedicated road crew, and our exceptional backup musicians for providing skilled and steadfast support, throughout these many years.

“We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful. Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.”

The band said the official farewell tour was currently in the “planning stages” and the band wanted to give a chance for all fans to see them. Scheduling information will be released as dates are set.

“The difficulties of booking venues for multiple nights may require us to return to certain cities, depending on demand,” the band said in the statement. “But, we hope to see as many of you as we can, before we finish up. Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

During “The Long Goodbye,” the Eagles – Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey - will perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands. The tour is expected to continue into 2025.

The band last played Rupp Arena in 2018, after the death of member Glenn Frey. For the upcoming tour, The Eagles will include Frey’s son Deacon and veteran musician Vince Gill as well as Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, according to Live Nation Concerts.

Ultimately, Eagles have all been in it for the long run
