The Philadelphia Eagles may have manhandled the New York Giants, 38-7, in the divisional round of the NFC Playoffs but there was still something that left a bad taste in the mouth of Jason Kelce.

Prior to the game, as officials set up for the coin toss, Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham was chirping.

That’s not what bothered Kecle. What bothered him was that Graham targeted Giants All-Pro nose tackle Dexter Lawrence, who was Kelce’s responsibility to stop throughout the game.

“We running right at you, 9-7,” Graham yelled toward Lawrence. “And you know not to run this way! You look like you’re tired from this week.”

Kelce immediately addressed the trash talk with Graham on the sideline. And he made it abundantly clear he wasn’t thrilled with it.

“I wasn’t happy about that,” Kelce told reporters on Thursday. “I told him right after that, ‘Hey man, you talk (expletive) to the tackle. I’ll handle this guy. I don’t need him more revved up than he already is.'”

Lawrence is a notorious trash talker himself and had dominated Kelce earlier in the season, so the Eagles’ center wasn’t interested in adding even more fuel to the fire.

Ultimately, however, Kelce was able to exact some revenge as he got the better of Lawrence in the playoff victory.
