Eagles’ restructure Jason Peters contract making his 1-year deal worth $8 million

The ‘Bodyguard’ is officially back at left tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles after the team restructured his one-year deal to make it worth $8 million with $4 million guaranteed.

Peters returned to the Eagles as a free agent after right guard Brandon Brooks suffered a torn Achilles that’ll keep him out for the regular season. Peters was initially slated to stay at right guard with Matt Pryor playing left tackle.

After some reported discussion on Peters being paid his worth at the position, the future Hall of Famer walked in Doug Pederson’s office and made the switch on good faith and loyalty to the team.

The team responded by making Peters comfortable just days away from the season opener in Washington against a football team that now features Chase Young on the edge.
