FARMINGTON—The Farmington Community Fire Protection District were dispatched at 2:24 a.m. Thursday to 64 N. Wood Street for a structure fire, according to a post on FB from the Department.

The structure was a duplex containing two apartments. Upon arrival crews found light smoke coming from the first floor apartment. Crews made entry and found fire in a bedroom.

The fire was quickly knocked down. It was contained to the room of origin although there was smoke damage throughout the downstairs apartment.

All occupants escaped safely from both apartments and no injuries were reported.

Assisting departments were Elmwood, Logan-Trivoli, Copperas Creek, Yates City, Ameren, and the Farmington Police Department.

Crews cleared the scene at 3:45 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
