Early registration to vote has begun in Fresno County

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Early registration to vote has begun in Fresno County.

Vote-by-mail ballots were mailed on Feb. 5, and voters say they have received them already, starting to get them back in along with voters coming down doing in-person voting at the Downtown Fresno Office at 2221 Kern St., according to the Fresno County District Office.

Jaleen Aleen Kus, Fresno County Clerk, Register of Voters says registration is available up to two weeks before election day.

“Once we get to the last two weeks before election days, you need to go in person, either to our downtown office or our vote center and we can help you register all the way up to the close of the polls on election day,” Kus said.

Early voting is available by mail and in person, officials say this is an opportunity to come down in all ways to vote either at home with the ballots mailed or in person at the downtown office.

Instructions in order to vote by the California Secretary of State include:

  • The last day to register to vote for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election is Feb. 20, 2024.

  • All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election.

  • Your county elections office will begin mailing ballots by Feb. 5, 2024.

  • Ballot drop-off locations open on Feb. 6, 2024.

  • Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or at your county elections office.

  • The last day to register to vote for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election is Feb. 20, 2024.

  • Vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties beginning on Feb. 24, 2024.

  • Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by March 12, 2024.
