Early voting dates and ballot information for June 21 runoff elections in Athens-Clarke

Athens-Clarke County will have one local runoff election along with the state runoffs on June 21 following the May 24 primary.

In the District 5 commission race, no candidate secured more than 50% of the vote, leaving Dexter Fisher and Matt Pulver in a runoff for the seat.

Meanwhile, there will be a runoff in both of the U.S. House District 10 primary races for the Republican and Democratic nominees.

On the Republican side, Mike Collins faces Vernon Jones and for the Democrats, Tabitha Johnson-Green and Jessica Fore are on the ballot.

Other runoff races on the ballot include lieutenant governor, secretary of state, insurance commissioner and labor commissioner.

When ballots become available, voters can view the sample ballots at the Georgia My Voter Page.

Early voting in Athens is scheduled to begin June 11 at the elections office downtown from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. From there, early voting will take place at the elections office June 13-17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesday, when voting will run until 7.

There will also be another early voting location at the Athens-Clarke County Library on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday that week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesday until 7.

For those wishing to vote absentee, applications are due by June 10 and the ballots are due at the elections office by Election Day at 7 p.m.
